Larry Joe Bucks, 78, Rochester, formerly of Kewanna, passed away at 5:58 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at his residence.
He was born March 22, 1939, in Winamac, the son of Joseph E. and Mable P. (Miller) Yoder Bucks.
On Dec. 6, 1969, at the Kewanna Methodist Church, he married Patricia Boissier, and she survives.
Larry graduated from Grass Creek High School and began his working career at International Harvester, Kewanna. For the next 50 years, he worked as a long haul truck driver after beginning his career with Navajo Trucking. After retirement, Larry enjoyed working in the Maintenance Department of Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Rochester, and a member of the Fulton Masonic Lodge, Fulton.
In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, attending auctions, spending time with his family and the companionship of his three dogs, Cooper, Clayton and Muffy.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathy (Raymond) Franko, Chris (Kim) Schramm, Laura (J.T.) Mays, all of Winamac, and Susie (Jim) Downhour, Rochester; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jerad A. Mays; sister, "Sis" (Forrest) Baker; and brother, Bill (Henrietta) Yoder.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will be at Kewanna Citizens IOOF Cemetery, Kewanna.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, June 16, at the funeral home, where there will be a Masonic service at 6 p.m.
