June's Story

June Irene Garrow, 96, Mishawaka, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017, at The Sanctuary at St. Paul's.
June was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Cass County, to the late Jacob Russell and Goldie (Wiles) Coffing. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, James Coffing, Donald Coffing, William Coffing and Dewey Coffing.
On Aug. 18, 1956, June married Edward George Garrow. Edward preceded her in death Nov. 21, 2002. June is survived by her daughter, Christine (Terrence) Trippel of Mishawaka; her son, Robert (Paula) Garrow of Easton, Massachusetts; five grandchildren, Caroline Trippel, Timothy Trippel, Christopher Trippel, Sarah Garrow and Matthew Garrow; four sisters, Rachel (Ken) Stewart of Mishawaka, Nina (Max) Lynch of Rochester, Betty (Edward) Lewis of Twelve Mile, and Joan Coffing of Sun City Center, Florida; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Coffing of Burnettsville.
June was a member of East United Methodist Church in Mishawaka and retired from Uniroyal in 1986 after 34 years of service. She was a past member of the Uniroyal Ladies Club and Women's Golf League, Mishawaka Women's Club, Mishawaka Commission on the Status of Women, The Ladies of the Elks and a volunteer at the Oliver Mansion. June enjoyed golf (hole-in-one on No. 15 at Eberhart-Petro Municipal Golf Course), gardening, sewing, cooking, bridge, traveling (once to St. Petersburg, Russia) and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, at the East United Methodist Church, 1621 E. Third St., Mishawaka. Pastor Dorothy Jones will officiate the services with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
Visitation for June will take place 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for The Homeless, 813 S Michigan St, South Bend, IN 46601.
