John Alan Tucker, 73, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at home in Port Angeles, Washington, in the arms of his wife, after a courageous battle with cancer.
John was born July 1, 1944, in Logansport to Ralph L. and Mary Ellen (Smyser) Tucker. On May 26, 1990, in Laguna Beach, California, he was married to Polly Laibe.
John was a 1962 graduate of Logansport High School and a graduate of Howard W. Sam's Technical Institute (ITT). He is survived by his wife, Polly; one daughter, Nichole Tucker Callahan, Port Angeles, Washington; one son, Jason Tucker, Alexandria, Virginia; and one stepson, Paul Serles (Kai), Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by two sisters, Ellen Lail and Libby Parkins (Alva) both of Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.
John worked for a number of years in quality assurance for Western Digital in southern California and Intel in Portland, Oregon. Upon his retirement, he and his wife lived in Maui and California and finally settled in beautiful Port Angeles, Washington.
John was a gentle man with the kindest of hearts. He loved animals, especially his little dog Noni. He will be terribly missed by those who loved him. According to his wishes, there will be no funeral. There will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date to celebrate his life and share their memories of him.
