John Henry Andrews, 72, of Logansport, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2017 in Chase Center.
Born May 14, 1945, in Logansport, he was the son of the late John T. and Dorotha M. (Caldwell) Andrews.
John was a graduate of Logansport High School. He retired after 29 years at Essex, Hamilton Standard and White-Rodgers.
He enjoyed college and professional sports, especially NASCAR racing.
John was raised in the Lutheran Church and was strong in his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is survived by special friends Jim and Judy Judd, of Whitestown, Horace and Linda Smith, of Logansport, and his neighbors and loving caregivers at Chase Center.
Many churches, organizations and individuals who practice little kindnesses to those in nursing homes do not realize how much they are appreciated by folks like John. He would want this obituary to reflect his appreciation for them making a difference in his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marietta M. Andrews.
A funeral service celebrating John's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Dr. Horace Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
