James "Jamie" Michael Brewer, 48, Camden, passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, in his residence. Born on May 29, 1969, in Logansport, he was the son of James "Jim" R. Brewer and Carolyn (Booth) Rose. On Aug. 21, 2001, in Logansport, he married Holly A. Ruff who survives.
Jamie worked for Arbor Care Tree & Landscaping as a tree trimmer, and was also known by many as the "tree man." In 2001, he started as a ground man and worked his way to a climber to make better pay within his first year. Jamie was a contractor climber who specialized in the big and difficult trees that nobody else would do. Jamie loved big tree removal and work. For the last 16 years, he helped grow Arbor Tree Care & Landscaping LLC into the business it is today.
Jamie loved his children and grandchildren, and always had the biggest smile on his face when he was speaking of them. He especially loved being a grandpa.
If anyone ever needed help with anything, Jamie would always be there. He was a shoulder to lean on and always had a hug ready and an ear to listen if you needed it.
Surviving along with his wife, Holly, are two daughters, Taylor (Andrew) Boonstra, Logansport, and Jordyn Brewer and companion Levi Hunter, Lucerne; two sons, Dustin (Mikaila) Brewer, Peru, and Braxton Akers, Colorado Springs, Colorado; mother, Carolyn Rose, Logansport; father, James "Jim" R. Brewer, Florida; three sisters, Michele Martin, Logansport, Lynne Morrison, Michigan, and Megan (Corey) Townsend, Rochester; eight grandchildren, Bryce Akers, Zoey Brewer, Paislee Boonstra, Cooper Hunter, Kaelyn Brewer and Grayson Boonstra, and two on the way; and two nieces and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Leazenby.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Gundrum Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
