James Lee Kline, 75, Alsip, Illinois, formerly of Logansport, went to live with our mighty Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
Jim was born on Feb. 14, 1942 in Logansport to the late Ambrose (Red) and Dorothy (Oram) Kline.
He graduated from South Caston High School, where he played basketball and ran track. Jim was an avid sports fan and loved his Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
On June 17, 1988, he married Renee (Mazzie) O'Neill, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Christina (Darrell) Todd and Lisa Smith of Logansport; two stepsons, Thomas and Anthony O'Neill of Illinois; sister, Barbara (Joe) Leffert of Logansport; brother, Richard Kline of Kewanna and his companion Diana Anderson of Rochester; one granddaughter, Kristin Stegall of Logansport; two grandsons, Cole Smith West of Lafayette and Nathan Smith of Logansport; three nephews, Scott (Erika) Leffert, Craig (Angie) Kline of Logansport and Curt (Erin) Kline of Rochester; one niece, Stephanie (Brent) Freeman of South Carolina; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and once niece, Chelle Kline.
Burial will be at a later date.
