James "Jim"'s Story
Jim M. Hodge, 59, Camden, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 9, 1957, in Lafayette, to the late Franklin and Gladys (Morgan) Hodge. Jim married Julia Godar on April 1, 2017; she survives.
Professionally, Jim was the sole owner of American Pumping since 1992.
Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle and flying. He was on the board of Delphi Airport and a member of the EAA. He cherished and loved spending time with his children and grandkids. He recently was considering getting back into farming which was truly a love of his.
Jim is survived by his wife Julia (Godar) Hodge; children, Miles Hodge of San Francisco, California, Courteny (husband: Gilverto) Martinez of Camden, and Madison (husband: Josh) Morgan of Tennessee; stepchildren, Sarah Swift, John Swift and Ben Hamilton; siblings, Frank (wife: Sue) Hodge of Camden, Cheryl (husband: Bill) Read of Columbus, Diane (husband: Don) Nelson of South Bend, and Cathy (husband: Tom) Hodge-Haggerty of Bloomington; and grandchildren, Catalyna, Gael, and Avianna Hodge-Martinez and Owen Morgan.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Hippensteel Funeral Home and Tribute Center - 405 Cottage St., Delphi, Indiana 46923. Minister Jared Walker will officiate.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at Hippensteel Funeral Home and Tribute Center.
