James W. Custer, 82, Logansport passed away at 9:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at Chase Center.
Born Feb. 5, 1935, in Logansport, he was the son of the late William and Marie (Buchholy) Custer. James was a U.S. Army veteran and he retired from Federal Mogul in Logansport. His nickname around town was the "weather man."
Survivors include his cousins, Jean Meyers of Georgia and Sandra Burkhart of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles H. Custer.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel. Burial with Military Rites will be conducted at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral chapel.
