George Raymond Rentschler, 85, Rochester, passed away at 5:03 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at his residence. He was born May 19, 1932, in Fulton County, the son of George A. Jr. and Dessie (Buchanan) Rentschler. On March 6, 1955, in Fulton, he married Frances Nellene Tilden and she survives.
Mr. Rentschler served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He had been a dedicated farmer, and had also served as a Fulton County Commissioner during the 1970s. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, but especially enjoyed spending his time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Nellene Rentschler, Rochester; children, Reesa and husband Michael Mills, Garland, Texas, Leesa and husband Larry See, Twelve Mile, Timothy and wife Melanie Rentschler, Rochester; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Helen King, Rochester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl D. Rentschler, Byron "Barney" Rentschler and Joseph Rentschler.
Private services have been conducted. Burial was in the Fulton Cemetery.
