Gary Michael "Mike" Galloway, 62, Logansport, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief, debilitating battle with cancer.
Mike was born Sept. 26, 1954, in Logansport, to William Galloway Jr. and Beverly J. Galloway (Spitznogle). He attended Pioneer, Twin Lakes and Logansport high schools, graduating from LHS in 1972. Mike attended both Indiana and Purdue universities majoring in chemistry. He spent most of his working career in construction and carpentry and was active in social affairs throughout his life. He volunteered for several community organizations serving others.
Mike is survived by his mother, Beverly J. Spitznogle, Logansport; brothers, William R. Galloway, Logansport, Devin L. Galloway, Solsberry, and Rick D. Galloway, Logansport; niece, Crystal M. Galloway, Logansport; nephews, Konner W. Galloway, Logansport, and Zion W. Langan, Solsberry; aunts, Judith A. Zook, Monticello, and Jo Ellen Yerkes, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; and nine cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, William Galloway Jr., and cousin, William L. Vernon.
Mike was a generous, gentle soul with a big heart. He will be sorely missed by his family, caring neighbors of his West Wabash Avenue neighborhood and his many friends.
Services will be private.
