Frank "Bud" Hayden, 84, Logansport, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette.
Born July 25, 1932, in Cass County, he was the son of the late Frank and Pearl (Reid) Hayden. On Nov. 7, 1957, in Wheeling, he married Linda L. Spitler, who survives.
Frank retired from Logan Machine Co. after 43 years. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during the Korean War. He was a member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church, and American Legion Post 60. Bud had a favorite saying, "There are no strangers, just friends he hadn't met yet."
Surviving along with his wife, Linda, is a daughter, Tonya (Jim) Reno, Logansport; three sons, Frank Lee Hayden, Jersey City, New Jersey, William Larry (Tammy) Hayden, Texas, and Douglas Lance Hayden and fiancé Carrie Jackson, Logansport; adopted daughter, Angie Rechkemmer, Logansport; sister, Virginia Conn, Logansport; brother, Larry Joe (Judy) Hayden, Cicero; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Hayden; and two sisters, June Girton and Margaret Chapman.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 3, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Reno, his grandson, officiating. A burial will follow in the Shideler cemetery near Logansport.
Visitation hours will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmaus Mission Center.
