Dennis F. Pletka, 78, of Winamac, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.
Dennis was born on August 21, 1938 in Winamac to the late Frank and Martha Pucka Pletka. He graduated from Winamac High School in 1957. On August 30, 1970 Dennis married DeAnna K. Sparks in Logansport. She survives.
Dennis retired from Plymouth Tube Co. in Winamac after 30 years. He was the former coach at Winamac Youth Soccer for many years. Dennis served in the U.S. Army. Dennis enjoyed horse racing, sports and his cats. He was an avid Cubs fan and a frustrated Bears and Notre Dame fan. Dennis also enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, DeAnna K. Sparks Pletka, Winama; sons, Scott Pletka, Logansport, and Bryan (Shanan) Pletka, Logansport; sisters, Virginia Mills, Dayton, Ohio, Irene Mitchell, Winamac, and Mary Kaminski Bowman, Winamac; brother-in-law David Sparks, Winamac; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers James Pletka, Raymond Pletka, Thomas Pletka, John Pletka and Frank Pletka.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 1 at Frain Mortuary with Father Terry Bennis officiating. Burial take place in Winamac Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Memorial contributions may be made to the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department or the Pulaski Co. EMS.
