David Wayne Smith, 75, Olivet, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, in Charlotte, Michigan.
He was born Feb. 28, 1942, to JD and Mary Jeannette (Morrison) Smith in Olivet, Michigan. David and his mother moved to Young America, Indiana, where he grew up in the household with his mother and stepfather Fred Gruhl.
David is survived by his children, Daniel (Ginger) Smith, Dawn (Scott) Sandin, Cheryl Smith, Timothy Nolan, Amber (Brad) Pieh, Michelle Smith and Darciana Smith; sisters, Joyce (Wendell) Propes and Virginia Schofield; brother Bobby Smith; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Manners and Alice Robinson; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his wife Eva, parents, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Bellevue Christian Church with Pastor Manik officiating. Interment follows at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue, Michigan.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan.
