David C. McCain, 77, Logansport, died peacefully at home and ascended to live eternally with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 11:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2017.
David was born to John R. and Frances "Polly" McCain on Jan. 16, 1940, in Logansport. He was a 1958 graduate of Camden High School and attended Ball State University. His marriage to Jonette M. Stiner was on July 20, 1984.
David retired from Delco Electronic in 1993 as a journeyman and electrician. He also worked at Kokomo School Corp. as an electrician for a couple of years. He then went on to retire from DuPont Photo Mask when it closed in 2005. David always said: being an electrician was not only a career, but a passion for him. He was a member of the previously known Family of God Foursquare Church, ran sound system for worship, music and sermons. He also served on the church council and was the treasurer.
Survivors include his wife Jonetta M. McCain; his children from previous marriage, Mark McCain of Deer Park, New York, Rodger McCain of Camden, Marcia Clingenpeel of Flora; two beloved step-daughters whom he lovingly helped raise, Destry (David) Richey of Logansport, and Christine Fording of Kokomo; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Robert "Bob" McCain (Elaine) of Camden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Travis Fording.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Premier Hospice of Kokomo.
