Calandra Mae Scott, 66, Logansport, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, in St. Vincent Indianapolis. She was born Nov. 8, 1950, in New Castle. She grew up in Miami County and attended Maconaquah High School.
On Dec. 13, 1968, in Wise, Virginia, she married the love of her life, Larry Scott, who survives.
A loving wife and devoted mother, she loved being a homemaker and cherished time spent with family.
Surviving with her husband of nearly 49 years are children, Richard (Diane) Scott, Peru, Randall (Barbie) Scott, Walton, Belinda (Michael) Jordan, Walton, and Rodney (Kirsten) Scott, Fort Wayne; brothers, Kirt Hamby, Burlington, David Hamby, Miami, and Joseph Moreland, Kentucky; sister, Beth Ann Riggle, Galveston; her beloved grandchildren, Travis, Kayla, Nikki, Kyle, Chloe, Kelsey, Fantasia, Harley, Austin, Cody, Levi, Emma, Christian and Caylie; precious great-grandchildren, Gavin, Bentley, Kenadi and Riley; and several extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester "SV" Hamby; mother and stepfather, Betty (Gregory) and James Moreland; brothers, James and Robert Moreland; and sister, Jimmy Moreland.
A funeral service celebrating Calandra's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Dr. Gregory A. Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery in Bunker Hill. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, in the funeral chapel.
