Betty L. Kistler, 90, Bluffton, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Born July 19, 1927, in Jay County, she was the daughter of the late Percy R. and Nilah C. (Reynolds) Smith. Betty graduated from Redkey High School. On Dec. 11, 1971, she married James A. Kistler, who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2016.
She retired from a career in retail. She was very fashion-conscious and encouraged the girls in the family to pride themselves in their appearance.
Survivors include her son, Daniel R. LaVine (Nora) of Bluffton; her daughter, Carmie Anderson of Liberty Center; and sisters, Ghlee A. Dobbins of English and Rita O. Knowles of Poneto. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her grandsons Nathan LaVine and Andy Anderson.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral chapel.
