Arthur W. (Bill) Tomlinson, 83, formerly of Logansport, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, in Eugene, Oregon, due to complications of kidney disease and diabetes.
He was born Jan. 6, 1934, in Clymers to Henry and Thelma (Cotner) Tomlinson.
He was a 1953 graduate of Logansport High School.
Arthur enlisted in the Air Force, where he served four years during the Korean War.
On Sept. 14, 1957, he married Carolyn Sue Byers, who passed in November 1998.
Arthur married Barbara Nelson on Jan. 8, 2007. She survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary K. Hayes, and son, Jeffery K. Tomlinson
He is survived by a brother, Don Tomlinson of Logansport; sons, David Tomlinson of Logansport and Michael Tomlinson (Trish McMillian) of Kimble, Minnesota; daughter, Theresa (Rob) Baker of Kewanna; four stepdaughters, Robin (Warren) McKerran, Debi Kouba, Sharon Kouba, and Barbie (Gerald) Kouba-Culver, all of Eugene, Oregon; two grandchildren, Courtney and Adam Srotyr of Logansport; two stepgrandchildren, Brody and Brandon Baker of Peru; five great-step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur was a retired machinist working for Ameritek and Small Parts.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, farming, and tinkering around building things in his garage. He always had a " project with his own blueprints." He loved spending time with family and his church.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Spring Creek Christian Church, Logansport, with military graveside services following.
Arthur's favorite color was blue, and the family asks that funeral guests wear blue in his honor.
