Ardath Lamar (Dewitt) Slack, 90, recently of Logansport, went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at her home in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by family and friends.
Born Feb. 11, 1927, in White County, Ardath was the daughter of the late Charles Everett and Esta (Wieand) Dewitt.
Preceding her in death were two sons, David and Daniel Long; husband, John Slack; and five sisters and two brothers.
Ardath's hobbies were gardening and cooking; she loved and always looked forward to hosting the holidays. Being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and friends was always the highlights of her days.
She retired as an LPN at Logansport State Hospital.
Surviving are five children, Linda Donnelly, Denver, Colorado; Jack Long and wife Martie, Dover, North Carolina; Paula Lytle and husband Bill, Logansport; Kevin Long and wife Pam, Greenwood; and Kim Emery and husband Dale, Logansport. She is also survived by dear family friend Fran Winston, Denver, Colorado. Ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive, along with two brothers, Gilbert and wife Judy Dewitt and Wendall and wife Carolyn Dewitt, and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
