Alice L. Linn, 97, Camden, passed away at 12:36 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. She was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Deer Creek Township, Carroll County to Albert and Nellie M. Ray Cree.
She was a 1937 graduate of Camden High School. On Sept. 14, 1946, in Camden, she married Claude T. Linn. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1968. She served as clerk-treasurer of the town of Camden for eight years. She served on the original board of directors of the Camden Senior Citizens Housing when the apartment complex was built.
Alice was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Camden, charter member and co-organizer of American Legion Auxiliary in Camden where she served several years as president and treasurer and was an over 60 year member of Carroll Chapter of Eastern Star where she was past matron and served as treasurer for 30 years.
Surviving are her son, Gary E. (Susan) Linn, Camden; a daughter, Rita K. (Jim) Myers, Bloomington; grandson, Ryan (Kendra) Linn, Camden; and two granddaughters, Tracy (Joe) Webster, Zionsville, and Amy (Scott) Guckien, Camden.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Cree Funeral Home in Camden. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Marissa Tweed Harrison officiating. Burial will be in the Camden Cemetery.
