Agnes's Story

Agnes Irene Forgey, 91, Logansport, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017 following a brief illness.
Born May 6, 1926, in Star City, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Ruth (DePoy) DeWitt.
A 1944 graduate of Royal Center High School, Agnes and her husband Herbert were high school sweethearts. On May 11, 1947, in Logansport, the couple were united in holy matrimony. On May 13, Agnes and Herbert celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a delightful gathering of family and friends
Agnes was a homemaker. She was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church.
Surviving with her husband are three children, Randall (Jeananne) Forgey of West Lafayette, Jennifer (Rick) Canfield of Marietta, New York, and Matthew Forgey of Plainfield; one brother, Eugene Dewitt of California; three grandchildren, Darrel (Kerri) Clase, David Canfield and Stuart Canfield; and three great-grandchildren, Noah, Mariha and Annika.
She was preceded in death by siblings Dean DeWitt, Jerry DeWitt, Sarah Shirver, Bill DeWitt and Carolyn Shelpman.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Presbyterian Church.
